GetawayTT Cancellation, Refund & Insurance Policy

Jurisdiction: Trinidad and Tobago
1. Cancellation Policy
For Guests:

Guests may cancel their booking up to 7 days before check-in for a full refund, minus non-refundable service fees.

Cancellations made between 6 and 3 days before check-in will receive a 50% refund.

Cancellations made less than 3 days before check-in are non-refundable.

Peak periods (e.g., Carnival, Easter, major national events) may carry stricter cancellation terms, disclosed in individual listings.
For Hosts:

All hosts must comply with GetawayTT’s standard cancellation policy.

Hosts are not allowed to set custom cancellation terms.

If a host cancels a confirmed booking:

The guest will receive a full refund.
-
GetawayTT will assist the guest with finding alternate accommodation.

If the cancellation occurs less than 3 days before check-in, the host will be charged the guest service fee amount associated with the cancelled booking.

Frequent cancellations by a host may result in lower listing visibility or suspension from the platform.
2. Refund Policy

Refunds are processed within 1 to 3 business days after approval.

Refunds may be issued to any payout method requested by the guest (e.g., original payment card, bank transfer, or digital wallet).

Guests must contact GetawayTT within 24 hours of check-in if the property is materially different from the listing (e.g., unclean, unsafe, unavailable).

A qualified Quality Inspector will assess the claim.

Proof (e.g., photos or videos) must be provided by guests or hosts to support any refund or dispute.

Based on the review, GetawayTT may issue partial or full refunds.
3. Travel Insurance Policy

GetawayTT does not currently offer third-party travel insurance.

Guests are strongly encouraged to purchase their own coverage for:

Trip cancellations

Personal accidents or liability
-
Emergency medical treatment
-
Lost or damaged belongings
-

Some special events or packages may include limited built-in coverage, such as:

Damage to vendor property
-
Injury to guests caused by vendors
These inclusions will be clearly disclosed at the time of booking.

4. Force Majeure
GetawayTT is not liable for cancellations or disruptions due to events beyond reasonable control, including:

Natural disasters (e.g., floods, hurricanes)

Government restrictions or health emergencies
-
Transportation strikes or shutdowns
In such cases, GetawayTT will provide a full refund and assist in rebooking, where possible. Communication will be handled through a dedicated customer service phone number.
5. Dispute Resolution

This policy is governed by the laws of Trinidad and Tobago.

All parties agree to resolve disputes via mediation or arbitration before considering legal proceedings.
6. Policy Updates

GetawayTT reserves the right to modify this policy at any time.

Users will be notified of changes via email, phone, or platform notifications at least 14 days before updates take effect.
